Alex told me he wanted to take some silly pics with me before he went to school one day, so here they are. Crazy kid. ;)
It's a new beginning...let's see where this road takes us. It's sure to have it's twists and turns, but we will navigate it together and enjoy the ride every step of the way!

Our brave girl
Bella has been having some tummy issues lately. For the past couple months, she has been complaining about her stomach hurting. We tried to eliminate some dairy products and a few other things thinking those were triggering the tummy aches, but that didn't really help much. She even threw up several times at school (poor thing) but whenever they tested her for the flu, it came back negative. Finally, her doctor said she wanted to do an Endoscopy (where they knock you out and put a scope with a camera down your throat so they can see your esophagus, stomach, and digestive tract) on Bellz so she could get a closer look at what's going on. Bella had that done at the Children's hospital in Louisville last week. Turns out she has pretty bad reflux, so her doc has put her on Prevacid to see if that will help with the tummy aches and has also given us a list of foods that we are to avoid for a while. The list includes: onions, strawberries, tomatoes, pineapple, juices, and pickles just to name a few. Seems like those are all pretty acidic foods. Anyway, we're glad it wasn't anyhing more than reflux. We should be able to control it by making a few changes to her diet, and hopefully she won't have to be on the meds for very long before we can go back to her normal diet.
Here's a pic of our brave girl getting ready for her Endoscopy. She looks so grown up!!! :(

First haircut
I really thought we could make it to a year without getting Alex's hair cut, but it was starting to look pretty raggedy as of late. Hair was all hangin down over his ears and getting kinda mullet-like in the back and whatnot. Lenny finally convinced me to bite the bullet and take the babe in for his first haircut this weekend. First up - baby's first haircut. Next thing I know, Alex will be leavin me to go off to college. *sigh*
Anyway, we went to The Hairy Elephant for his first haircut experience since they cater to kids. He did great! Didn't fuss one bit. <3 His hair looks much better now and we can actually do the faux hawk again. Woot!

My future's so bright, I gotta wear shades!
Alex was being Cranky McCrankerson for these pics. I couldn't get him to smile for anything! I don't think he was too keen on the flash blinding him every 5 seconds though. That was pry a big part of the problem. Lol. W'evs. Still as handsome as ever...

9 month checkup
We took Alex to see Dr. Agolia on Friday for his 9 month checkup. Anybody want to guess where he falls on the charts this month? Go ahead, take a guess. I'll wait.
Hope you aimed high. He is now weighing in at 25lb, 9oz (100th percentile) and is 30.25" tall (100th percentile). He is STILL off the charts in everything but head circumference, and in that category he is in the 99.8th percentile. Hahahah! Yay for a small(ish) head that puts us on the charts in at least one category!!!
We are going to have to take out a 2nd mortgage to feed this kid when he's a teenager, I swear. Over the weekend, that dude ate an entire packet of oatmeal, a whole piece of toast, and some yogurt melts for breakfast one day. I told the doc that sometimes I worry that we're overfeeding him, but he was like "No, no, no. Kids eat what they need and they will stop when they are full. If he's still wanting food, keep feeding him. They don't learn to overeat until much later." Allllllllllllllrighty then. Guess we're destined to have a chunker 4 life.
It's getting harder and harder to take a decent pic of this guy, so I apologize for the following not-so-great pics. Those were the best I could get.

Party at the crib
Alex was invited to his first party this weekend. His friend Kalle from school is turning 1 and invited all the kids from class to her "Winter ONEderland" party. A good time was had by all! Alex was all about the penguin beach ball favors, but personally my fave part was the hot chocolate bar. :)
It was nice to meet some of the other kids and parents from his class. I love seeing him next to kids his own age...cracks me up cuz he looks so much older than all of them since he's so rotund. I love that little butterball!!!!
