My funny Valentine

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I had a great day today. They had a special "Valentines Lunch with Mom" at Alex's school, and I was so excited to go eat lunch with him that I almost couldn't stand it. Haha. They really went all out at this shindig, too. They even had a chocolate fountain! How cool is that?

After lunch, I took Alex home with me since I was off work today. These kind of afternoons mean the world to me. I love spending time with my precious lil boy! We played ball for a bit when we got home (his new obsession), read a book, then laid down and took a nap together. He is the best cuddle bug around! Xoxo. When he woke up from his nap, we visited with the neighbors for a bit and then I took Alex over to Granny and Grumpas. They watched him this evening while Lenny and I went out for our Valentines dinner. Great day all around.

Happy V Day peeps!

CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN!!!!

Alex "made" this for me at school! So cute :)

Our Vday spread. I made the chocolate covered strawberries for Len yesterday.

Well we knew this day would come eventually...

Alex is in Jax's food and water bowl constantly these days. He makes such a mess playing in it too! He just HAS to splash water everywhere and he's not satisfied until the entire kitchen floor is covered. Oh well. A little water never hurt anyone, right?

I have yet to see him try and put the food in his mouth (usually Jax scarfs it down quicker than Alex can even grab it), but Lenny said he saw Alex try to eat a piece o kibble one day. And umm...Lenny just let him do it too! Ugh. BOYS.

So much for being childproof...

I was cooking dinner the other night and gave Alex a bottle of Ibuprofen to rattle and shake around. He was having loads of fun with it and shaking til his heart's content! A few minutes later, I realized it was quiet and I looked over at him. This is what I saw:

Childproof bottle, my butt!!! As you can imagine, the first thing he tried to do was put one of the pills in his mouth. I hollered "NO!" and then he dropped it. Then, much to my surprise, he actually started picking up the pills one by one with his pincer grasp and - get this - PUTTING THEM BACK IN THE BOTTLE. Do you believe that? I didn't even know he could do the pincer grasp, let alone know to put those pills back in the bottle! It's not like that hole is huge, either. He pur at least 4 of them back in the bottle, then I helped him out with the rest. Sheesh. He's a regular Einstein! <3 nbsp="">

BTW, yes I realize that an Ibuprofen bottle probs isn't the best toy for a 10mo old baby to play with. It was a one time makeshift thing, OKAY??? Don't judge.

Baby, it's cold outside!

Well Alex had his first encounter with snow over the weekend, and I think it's safe to say he's not a fan. When I first set him down, he kinda tipped over and went face first into the snow, so that may have had something to do with him disliking it. Whoopsies. It's not my fault he couldn't move in the ever-so-adorable snowsuit! (compliments of Mr. Sam Cochran) He was fine as long as I was holding him tho. Oh well. Maybe he will like it more next year.
